The guy doesn't sell out large venues anymore, that's true (5-6k at most?).. but the shows he does at the big "fests" are well received. His latest album of originals (SDAA) is alot more "rock" than any of the stuff he did in the 80's (yes, you are right, he was not quite as rockin on album then).. See a show sometimes. he does destroy guitars amongst other things.. kitsch? probably. .but still kinda fun... While I disagree with your assessment of the RS bit, I found it quite humorous!
